NF Camp and Networking

Networking and personal support is at the heart of NF Michigan as the organization. We know first-hand the value of a thriving NF community in times of strife and we manage many opportunities for the NF community to connect with us and with one another.

NF Michigan Camp

The Justin Nesmith & Karen Warren Memorial Camp was established to provide opportunities for children aged 5-16 to build self-esteem, gain independence, and forge relationships with other children living with NF. Parents will benefit by connecting with other parents who have children living with the disorder. We rent space from the YMCA’s Sherman Lake Camp in Augusta, MI for one weekend in August. Thanks to a bequest gift from Karen Warren in memory of Justin Nesmith, NF Michigan is able to reduce the costs of camp participants for a small registration fee.

Summer Picnic

Each summer NF Michigan hosts a picnic in Grand Rapids with the goal of creating a fun space in order for us to connect with the NF community in Michigan. The day allows us to provide fun for families and gives us a chance to connect with the community.

Coffee Chats

Coffee chats are infrequent events that take place around the state and hosted by a member of the NF Michigan board. These informal events serve as an opportunity to meet the NF Michigan community, provide an opportunity for families to connect, and provide a space to ask questions and learn.
